North Island Regional Competition, New Zealand Young Winemaker 2019

The New Zealand Young Winemaker Competition is now in its fifth year and is fast becoming a much talked about event high on the NZ Wine calendar. The competition’s aim is to support up and coming winemakers, create networking opportunities and build a strong emerging Young Winemaker community.
Hawkes Bay will be holding the North Island competition, at EIT (Eastern Institute of Technology) on Thursday 1st August 2019.
Entries will be accepted from 13th May to 30th June 2019.
An information evening will be held 5.00-7.00pm, Tuesday 11th June, Sensory Room (E167), EIT for this year’s entrants to hear from previous contestants and committee members about the format of the event and areas to focus on in your application. It’s a great opportunity to come along, ask questions, hear about the competition first hand and meet with event sponsors.
A maximum of eight contestants will be selected from the applicants and those accepted will be notified two weeks prior to the event.
One winner from each regional competition - North Island, Marlborough and Central Otago, will go on to the national competition and represent their region in Blenheim on 17th September.
